The REAL Person Of The Year.
What David Bowie gave to our world cannot be overestimated. He opened so many doors for so many people. He taught so many people that they were valuable and worthwhile. He taught us how to be cool and intellectual and creative. His passing at the top of this annus horribilis set the scene for what has been, for so many people, a shocking, frightening and tragic 2016. It shocked the world. We'd all just assumed he was immortal. Now, as the first anniversary of his death approaches, we need to take a step back and really realise what a gargantuan this man was. It's a gross understatement to say that he changed the world. Of course he changed it. Our planet without him is a much bigger, much blander and less colourful place.
David Bowie is my Person Of The Year 2016, and he's the man who deserves it more than anyone else.
